Ready today’s prompt by clicking on ‘Read More’…
This month’s journaling prompts on the theme of SELF-CONFIDENCE are designed to help you build a steady, grounded belief in yourself. Not by forcing positivity, but by gently understanding how you think, feel, and show up in your everyday life.
Mini-theme: Asserting self and finding purpose
Today’s Prompt: Complete: “Expressing my true thoughts today would look like…” (repeat for assertiveness).
These are my personal responses to today’s prompt designed to encourage you to use the prompts to develop your journaling practice. If you are not already receiving the monthly themed prompt calendar there is a sign up box below and you are very welcome to come and join us.
You know, I don’t like people to know my true thoughts. I don’t feel it’s safe.
There, I’ve said it.
Telling people what you really think is a really vulnerable position, I feel.
It takes a lot for me to do that. And I generally do it with people I know really well.
Sometimes I say quite personal things to other people, but I’ve noticed that they are ‘created’ personal thoughts, they are given to someone else in a way that doesn’t make me feel vulnerable.
So what would it look like if I expressed my true thoughts all day? I’m not sure I could do that.
For assertiveness though I could, ‘Expressing my assertiveness today would look like…’ just saying what I need, asking people to help, expressing preferences, making sure that I enjoy the day and don’t just manage it or facilitate it for others so that they have a good day.
Assertiveness, I can do that.
Expressing my true thoughts I will work on during the day.
