Journaling prompts, April’s theme: SELF-CONFIDENCE – 21st April 2026

Ready today’s prompt by clicking on ‘Read More’…

This month’s journaling prompts on the theme of SELF-CONFIDENCE are designed to help you build a steady, grounded belief in yourself. Not by forcing positivity, but by gently understanding how you think, feel, and show up in your everyday life.

Mini-theme: Asserting self and finding purpose

Today’s Prompt: Define a goal slightly beyond my comfort: “To build belief, I’ll persist by…”

These are my personal responses to today’s prompt designed to encourage you to use the prompts to develop your journaling practice. If you are not already receiving the monthly themed prompt calendar there is a sign up box below and you are very welcome to come and join us.

I know that consistency builds belief.

The goals slightly beyond my comfort zone is to launch the Healing Journal membership. I really love what I am creating but I feel really vulnerable about it.

I have found Hal Elrod’s Miracle Morning SAVERS to be really useful – silence, affirmations, visualisation, exercise, reading and scribing (journaling). He talks about the miracle equation being unwavering faith plus extraordinary effort. I think that is the closest I have come to understanding what building belief is all about.

The miracle equation (unwavering faith + extraordinary effort) has not come easily to me. I have to remind myself of either or both of those on a daily basis. So ‘building belief’ is actually work. Well for me it is. It may come naturally to other people, but it has not come naturally to me. I have to work at it.

I also think that the part where belief is created is when the goal is achieved. So I can build belief based on previous areas where I have succeeded, and I think I journaled on this the other day – must look through my prompts – and found it very helpful. When it comes to building belief I do find it really useful to say, ‘I did such and such before and that worked’, ‘I built X business before and I can do it again’. Even as I type that I find it very useful.

I also think that the feeling of achievement is something that will help me build belief. As I was writing about previous times where I have achieved something that relates to the current area where I am building belief, my heart lifted, and my body filled with positivity. Now that’s the feeling I need to harness to build belief. Hal would call it unwavering faith.

It’s that wonderful feeling in your body of positivity and, yes, belief in myself.

That is what I’m going to focus on every day. That feeling in my self. It feels so wonderful and I realise I’ve been a total stress-ball for the last few weeks as I work on my goals.

So I’m going to leave that behind today. I’m going to concentrate on the feeling in my body. The feeling that yes I can do this. I’ve achieved goals before I know I’m going to achieve this.
