This month’s journaling prompts on the theme of SELF-CONFIDENCE are designed to help you build a steady, grounded belief in yourself. Not by forcing positivity, but by gently understanding how you think, feel, and show up in your everyday life.
Mini-theme: Integrating with integrity and lasting love
Today’s Prompt: Finish: “Living with personal integrity means…” (repeat 6-10 times to integrate all pillars).
These are my personal responses to today’s prompt designed to encourage you to use the prompts to develop your journaling practice. If you are not already receiving the monthly themed prompt calendar there is a sign up box below and you are very welcome to come and join us.
Living with personal integrity means I have values that I live up to each day. Integrity, for me, has come to mean that my actions are aligned with my values. It took me a long time to create values for myself that I love. My values are very different to other peoples’ values but I did some work around creating my own values and found it really helpful.
And now I understand so much better why I feel really out of alignment for seemingly small reasons. For example, I have one value which is ‘self-care’ and I have another which is ‘vitality’. Both of those values tie in with exercising. When I don’t exercise regularly, apart from feeling physically sluggish, there is a little niggle that sits at the back of my mind that I couldn’t quite explain.
And now I understand. Self-care and vitality are both linked to exercising. So when I don’t exercise I’m not in alignment with those two values. Now that I have worked that out I understand myself so much better, what a relief!
I also understand that integrity is not necessarily a value in itself, it’s the outcome of living in alignment with my values. I know some people see integrity as a value and I understand that, but for myself I actually find seeing integrity as an outcome is more useful to me.
So, living in personal integrity means living out my values:
Living in personal integrity means practicing freedom in my life by making choices and decisions for myself, not based on what other people would prefer or my tendency to people-please
Living in personal integrity means connection: prioritising time to see friends, family, and spend good time with them.
Living in personal integrity means creativity: finding time to be creative, creating space to be creative, losing myself in creating something new.
Living in personal integrity means presence: I am present to the current moment. I am in this moment.
Living in personal integrity means self-care: I look after my body, exercise, nurture myself.
Living in personal integrity means beauty: I create beauty around me. A beautiful room, a dress, a beautiful Pinterest pin, a tidy wardrobe.
Living in personal integrity means vitality, feeling alive in my body. I spend time outside, I dress well.
Living in personal integrity means I provide – I provide financially for my family, I provide emotionally for my nearest and dearest.
I love these answers for myself.
