Mini-theme: Exploring
Today’s Prompt: Describe an interest that could potentially be energizing but that you might be supressing.
These are my personal responses to today’s prompt designed to encourage you to use the prompts to develop your journaling practice. If you are not already receiving the monthly themed prompt calendar there is a sign up box below and you are very welcome to come and join us.
Oh interesting, an interest that could be energising but I might be supressing…
When I first read this prompt I immediately thought of physical exercise and that maybe I’m not allocating thinking space to it because of lack of time.
Then, my thoughts turned to activities I like doing but am not doing. For example, reading. I’m not reading very much because I’m growing my business and don’t have a lot of extra time. And also by the time I get to the evening I’m just not alert enough to read and fall asleep in front of the book.
But maybe … I’ve just got used to not reading and I could allocate other time to it. Maybe early evening? I would find reading energizing, definitely.
Also dance. I love dancing. I’d really happily go to dance classes. I love all types of dance and I’m just not going to classes. I even have an online dance app, and I’m not even using that. And when I ask myself why, I really don’t have an answer except that for whatever reason I don’t feel I deserve to do something fun, or that I’m fearful of going (not sure why).
So, for me, reading and dance are potentially being supressed and would most probably/definitely be very energizing.
How about you? What aren’t you doing, what are you supressing, even for the best of intentions but actually would really make your heart sing and be energizing?
Sarah
