Mini-theme: Softening

Today’s Prompt: When do you feel playful or open-minded or where you can introduce playful moments in your day?

These are my personal responses to today’s prompt designed to encourage you to use the prompts to develop your journaling practice. If you are not already receiving the monthly themed prompt calendar there is a sign up box below and you are very welcome to come and join us.

I feel playful and open-minded when I don’t feel constrained by time and when I don’t have lots of things on my mind that I feel I need to do.

Consequently it is rare that I just feel playful and/or open-minded and can just let myself loose and just luxuriate in a sense of timelessness, or maybe of time just passing like a river and me swimming in the current.

So, where can I introduce those moments into my day quite naturally?

What I’m discovering is that I do have to be really intentional now about being impromptu.

I’m trying to allocate time on a Saturday morning but not getting very regular with that just yet, I need to work on that a bit more. I’d also like to have some creative time after work a couple of times and evening, although I do struggle with early evening tiredness and have done since I was a young teenager.

Really what I would love to do is to work less and have some easy time to be creative. For now I’ll just have to work out how to manage that during my week. I like this prompt for highlighting that I need to be really intentional with my time.

How about you? How is your relationship with open-mindedness and playfulness?
