This month’s journaling prompts on the theme of SUMMER are designed to help you bridge the gap between lighthearted seasonal fun and meaningful self-discovery. The prompts are phrased in a positive, supportive manner, enabling you to balance self-inquiry with the fun of summer months.

• Hand over a wedding dress that makes both me and my client incredibly happy.

• Feel clear and confident about my Healing Journal membership, knowing I’m creating exactly what busy professional women need, not just adding more content.

• Feel healthy, fit and confident in my own body, enjoying being outdoors and comfortable wearing whatever I choose.

If you’re finding today’s prompt difficult, you’re not alone. When I first answered it, every goal that came to mind was about work.

That showed me something important. Not that my goals were wrong, but that work has been occupying far more of my thoughts than the season I’m living in.

Summer has a way of slipping past while we’re busy planning for what comes next. Long evenings, meals in the garden, family gatherings, walks in the sunshine and moments of stillness don’t happen if I don’t make space for them.

If your first thoughts are all about deadlines and achievements, perhaps gently ask yourself another question: “When summer comes to an end, what memories do I hope I’ve made?”

Sometimes the most meaningful goals aren’t the ones that increase our productivity, but the ones that help us fully experience the season we’re in.

I realise that I sometimes struggle with thinking of goals that are not work related.

So I used this prompt to help me think more holistically about my life:

“What would make this a summer I’ll remember, not just a summer I worked through?”

With that prompt, the thoughts that come up are:

I want to wear beautiful clothes every day
I want to feel good in my skin
I want to have the confidence to be the woman that I am.

That last one felt like it came out of the blue, but I realise that it’s been floating round the back of my head for a while now. I feel very strongly that I am about to undergo a major life transformation.

But I also realise I might be resisting it out of fear. On the one hand I want my life to change. On the other hand my brain is full of questions like:
“What will people think?”
To have the courage to be the person I am created to be. By the end of the summer I want to have that courage.

How about you?
